The Belgian team of architects 51N4E Space Producers has won the Maaskant Prize 2003 for young architects. The Maaskant Prize is the most important architecture prize in the Netherlands, and recent winners have included Liesbeth van der Pol, Neutelings Rietdijk and Adriaan Geuze. It is the first time the prize has been awarded to a non-Dutch architecture bureau. The Maaskantprijs has been presented to the winners by the Mayor of Rotterdam.

51N4E Space Producers are regarded as one of the most talented and promising bureaus in Belgium, making their mark with the transformation of dwelling spaces and renovation of the Groeninge Museum in Bruges. Their most important commission so far was for the conversion of an old brewery in Mechelen into a cultural centre.
