The new Dutch Embassy in Mozambique was realized by Claus en Kaan Architecten and is set in the city of Maputo, close to the African coastline. It is an exceptional building, designed to a Dutch vision yet constructed using African materials. The use of local materials and techniques led to inventive solutions and new insights, giving the embassy a distinctive African/ Dutch atmosphere but also providing a work environment that comes up to Dutch standards.
