Frank van Oort, Mark Thissen, Leo van Wissen A survey of spatial economic planning models in the Netherlands Design: Typogfaphy and other serious matters, Illustrated (colour), paperback, 176 pages, 17 x 24 cm NAi Publishers in association with the Netherlands Institute for Spatial Research
These models were described and used in recent, specific case studies: e.g. the welfare effects of damage to the Van Brienenoord bridge in Rotterdam, a cost-benefit analysis of urbanization options around Amsterdam, labour-market prediction in the Dutch province of Gelderland, and regional housing production projections. The descriptions of these models are preceded by a discussion of the New Economic Geography theory, which most of the models described here use as a reference. The volume concludes with an evaluation of these models, both in terms of their application and their policy sensitivity. |
