In summer 2006, a large-scale event is being held in Rotterdam under the title China. Three of Rotterdam's cultural institutions are collaborating closely to organize three related exhibitions. Contemporary Chinese art will be exhibited in Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, the Netherlands Architecture Institute is presenting an overview of contemporary Chinese architecture, and the Nederlands fotomuseum focuses on contemporary visual culture in China.

A separate catalogue is being published for each exhibition: "China. Contemporary Art", "China. Contemporary Architecture" and "China. Contemporary Visual Culture". A limited edition box set of these three publications is being made available for a special price.
