Link gives a broad picture of the current state of play in contemporary Dutch Photography. It presents work by 29 Amsterdam Photographers and artists, from which the municipal acquisitions for the Stedelijk Museum collection were chosen in 2003. The book makes the connection between that work and the museum's collection of photography. Pictures already beloning to this higprofile collection by Dutch Photographers including Hans Aarsman, Eva Besnyö, Ed van der Elsken and Paul Schuitema are integrated in the book with the purpose to forging links, extending lines and making statements about Dutch photography of the past decade and the present day. Art historian Prederike Huygen identifies and examines the developments taking place in photography today.
