Nicoline Timmer, a nominee for the Prize for Young Dutch Art Criticism 2010, is contributing an introductory essay and has followed the intense selection process closely. By awarding the assignment for an essay to a young art critic, the Prix de Rome is also underscoring the importance of encouraging a new generation of art critics and thus continuing the cooperation with the prize for art criticism. The Prix de Rome is the most important Dutch art and architecture prize for artists and architects under 35 years of age. The Prix de Rome Visual Arts is awarded every two years and aims to discover talent and signal trends in an international context. Also available |
